Listened to this @volts.wtf banger this last night and it's wild just how incredible the rate of return is for improving indoor air quality in schools.

Where is California at with this? Do we have policy levers we can pull at the state level?
Today on Volts: for years, I've wanted to do a podcast on indoor air quality, and I finally found the perfect guest! Dr. Lagoudas & I discuss indoor air pollutants, the policies and technologies that can control them, and the growing need to frame indoor air quality as a basic human right.
What's the deal with indoor air quality?
From CO2 monitors to better building codes, Dr. Georgia Lagoudas outlines how to clean up the spaces where we spend 90% of our lives.

it's uncomfortable to recognize how much of the american liberal/progressive tradition is intertwined with white supremacy and the genocide of native americans but it absolutely was, and just because jackson was not a progressive in the modern racial justice sense doesnt change what he represented

Rev. Bates-Chamberlain: Once ICE came in on their rampage, you literally had mass agents kidnapping people off the streets. It felt like you were in a horror movie, but this was a real occurrence happening in the United States in 2025.

Today the Department of the Interior announced they will hold the six offshore lease sales across off of California. I wrote about Reagan’s Interior Secretary James Watt opening up 80 million acres of offshore waters to oil and gas about a year ago. The last offshore lease in California was 1984.

Remember a few weeks ago when Trump brought in a couple bulldozers and demolished about a third of the White House? That was weird.

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

This is QUITE a big-if-true. While I'm pretty sure that Pam Bondi and Todd Blanche hate Martin and Pulte, the big guy loves them. But it would be really funny if Trump turned against Pulte for getting him to propose 50-year mortgages, which was universally panned.
