THis is a lovely thread
I was invited to a con in Puerto Rico soon after the hurricane. They were rebuilding everywhere, parts of the island were still without power. Trump was of course screwing them over.

I didn't feel it was right to go, but I was told repeatedly to please come, they needed tourism back.

This is pretty menacing.

Sarah Pochin wrote to Bangor's university student run debating society requesting that she attend to "answer questions from students."

When they said "no" Reform rolled all it's tanks onto the lawns and said they'll cut funding to the entire university if they win.

Well, so much for 'final arrow'. Starmer's going down like the multiverse's more boring Boromir.
Although Scottish friends assure me that Anas Sarwar failing to get a job done that he's fully committed to is about typical.

Oh FFS
I have today been informed that, despite personal assurances to the contrary, the Green party have once again used my image and misrepresented my words on a second leaflet circulated in Gorton and Denton ahead of the by-election. I have now lodged an official complaint with the returning officer.

Spooked by Reform, Labour may have cut net migration too far
With numbers already falling the government made it even harder to come to the UK – and it could cost us billions

Whilst I think it's far too early to be speculating about the next GE, in the specific case of the Gorton and Denton by-election, given the current news cycle and the blocking of Burham, it's now most probably the case that anyone to the left of Benito Mussolini should vote Green.

Re-upping this for the Monday crowd... I think my favourite, most revealing detail is that the guy seems to not realise he's in trouble because London Centric's reporting didn't hit anything like his view counts, so therefore it can't really matter.
Hate-filled fake videos about London are everywhere. We've obtained a recording of a TikToker confessing to secretly filming Londoners in their homes for clicks.

He says it's not political. He just wants to make money from far-right anger.

90% sure she's the woman whose ads I got on Instagram a year or so ago promising a hack to produce lots of books in a short time period and make lots of money.
To be very clear, that lady in the NYT article is not making any money with her hundreds of AI slop books.

She makes money by *convincing people* she makes money that way and getting them to pay her to teach them how to do it.

It's an evolved MLM, and the NYT is helping market it.

I feel this will prove to be a very insightful comparison.
I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.
