Heyo! I’m RJ, a game writer, screenwriter and burgeoning self-taught TTRPG designer who’s three years into a grand adventure at Epic Games. I’m gay as fuck, very friendly, and a barely-functioning human being with a general addiction to yearning.

Actually if someone has a nice atmospheric shot of flooded modern city ruins / a subway especially that would also serve.
Sorry, clarification - I have an immediate need for an
Illustration to go with a translation of my short story Children of Dagon and wondered if anyone here had a piece showing a seal/human creature - ideally with a ruined city landscape - ready to go, that I could haggle for. Should be SFW
Any artists out there got an available (non AI) picture of what could be a bioengineered seal/aquatic human?

Currently reading my way through ttrpg BAND OF BLADES, small chunk at a time, and it is *really* cool. Military fantasy is an intriguing genre, and to fulfill it the game builds out interesting worldbuilding and some very neat mechanics on its FitD base.

Ten games I want to make/playtest/finish in 2026:

- The Box
- Story Builders
- Eternal
- Devil’s Hollow
- Unbecoming
- Junker’s Peace
- Decades
- Service
- Unwelcome
- Worst Night

If I can get all of these drafted, playtested and revised by end of next year, I will feel like a GOD.
No way I could make ten games in 2026. No way you'd play ten if I made them. But if you're most excited about any of these tell me and maybe shift my order making them?

- Feast of Life and Still Alife
- Onsen With the Moms
- Road Trip
- The Marriages of Lucy Alcott
- To Throw and Be Thrown
.
.
.
10 Games I want to make/finish in 2026. And yes, feel free to ask questions!

- Blood Begets Blood
- Little Wanderer
- The Ruined Land
- Legendary Pro Wrestling
- Get In The Robot, Kid
- Mästare
- You’ll Never Know Me, I’ll Never Know You
- The Last Guardian
- Witch’s Brew
- Deified

Dipped back into Anomaly Collapse. That game is so fucking good. I really like the free new character they added via DLC, and hope they do more of that... and I'd kill for a sequel.

Warning signs for recession have been flashing all year, says Rob Fahey, but the US sales slump is the starkest sign yet of how vulnerable the industry’s narrow focus has made it.

Things I want to do in a two week break:

- Finish all my video games
- Finish drafting all my projects
- Write multiple blog posts
- Read all my bluesky bookmarks
- Read all my books
- Read all the TTRPGs in my collection
- Catch up on Critical Role & other APs
- Rest & relax

Clearly, very doable.

Ha… for this moment at least, both of the highest rated individual episodes of television on IMDB were written by Canadians.

Moira Walley-Beckett and Jacob Tierney.

I propose the widespread replacement of "themselves" with "theirself" when referencing an individual.

We're using the singular "them", but the plural "selves" in "themselves", which is unnecessary and nonsensical. The singular "their" should be paired with the singular "self", hence, "theirself".

The only way this can scale forever is you send every player their own little board. Very Seven Part Pact.

A Pactlike, if you will.

This year has felt, for me as a creator, like a transition year. I finally moved my blog. I got a bunch of smaller TTRPG projects drafted and into the world. A project I love that I thought was dead is stubbornly alive. I’ve written work I’m proud of. Did things that scared me. I feel… movement.

As someone who straddles the video game and TTRPG communities, who already both tend to use ‘game’ on here to only mean their type of game with no recognition of how confusing that is:

You are trying to kill me.
Where did the movement to call RPGs "TTRPGs" start? How can I fight them?
