I remember reading something about the "Stay At Home Girlfriend" Movement from a former stay at home girlfriend and she said "When you give a man the power to feed you, you give him the power to starve you."
They really want to force young white women out of the workforce. And it is wild to watch conservative white women stump for their own subjugation. Because when they are not longer useful they will find out the cage isn't even gilded
What annoys me most about the anti-DEI attacks: We already rolled back, then ended affirmative action. Ask yourself: Where is this going? What more do they want?

i'm guilty of using it sometimes but y'all i do not think the "eat your spinach" metaphor is gonna work on all age groups. also singling out graphic novels, CU, and wimpy kid is weirdo behavior bc why not encourage what kids are clearly gravitating towards already???

she said yes but with the understanding that i am ONLY to do this when i'm clocked in for hourly pay and not give into the trap of uncompensated work.
every new semester i inch closer to asking my writing program director if they want me to start developing materials for like actual literacy/reading instruction, especially now that we're starting to take in students from the "the kids today can't read" wave.

I understand calling for individualized responses or even mass resistance to AI in academia. It's important to do what we can individually. But if unionization isn't part of the conversation, then we're not giving ourselves the best chance to win. Unions are the best institutions to help control AI

listen, I am enjoying blusky as an alternative to twitter well enough, but I really wish that the people who did most of the free advertising for the place made it clear that the "no grifters, no bigots, no ai, no bots" thing wasn't actually in the tos, it was just because no one was here yet.
