I may support some mining if reassured the companies are NZ owned, the regulations are robust, and the cleanup cost cannot land on the taxpayer. I use and want technologies that use minerals every day.
I don’t trust the parties involved though to get this right.

I’m constantly amazed how dumb “smart tools” are.
Siri has got less intelligent. Can’t do tasks now she used to. “Read me the news headlines”? Nah. (This is on the same old phone).
AI? Its google-type efforts are C- at best. Inaccurate, unclear.
We’re being gaslit by AI + the tech industry.

The military fetishists in our government don't seem to have considered that putting kids through 'boot camps' while not addressing the social issues that cause them to be there is excellent training for them to join an organisation with hierarchy, uniforms and strict discipline-like a gang. #nzpol

So digging into Nationals "data" on students failing in maths, it seems the "benchmark" that Yr 8 students are failing at, that has prompted this accelerated change, is based on the 2023 draft curriculum, which hasn't yet been taught in schools. 👀

One boot camp in an existing youth justice facility=$5m.
