Another way to reduce electricity prices? Shifting from for-profit, investor-owned monopoly utilities to municipal utilities or member-owned co-operatives would save about 15% on electricity bills, averaged over locations and customer classes.
8. For-profit utilities charge 14% more (13.3 c/kWh, 2023 average) than cities (11.7 c/kWh) and 16% more than rural coops (11.5 c/kWh). This trend is accelerating: For-profit utility prices rose 2.7 c/kWh from 2019-2023, 225% more than cities (1.2 c/kWh) and 270% more than coops (1 c/kWh).

Equalizing electricity prices between residential, commercial, and industrial customers would save households - aka voters - 21% on their electricity bills. Commercial prices would go up 1%. Industrial prices would go up 59% because residential and commercial customers deeply subsidize them today.
7. Residential customers - aka you and me, aka voters - pay 28% more (16.5 c/kWh, 2024 average) than commercial customers (12.9 c/kWh) and 201% more than industrial (8.2 c/kWh). This trend is accelerating: Residential prices rose 27% from 2019-2023, vs. 21% for commercial and 19% for industrial.

At this point we have to assume that if the Epstein files are released they will
- end the Trump Presidency
- implicate many other prominent Republicans
- destroy the careers of AG Bondi and his other defenders
This is beginning to feel like the greatest scandal in American history.
Trump has done enormous harm to the country.
He is a deeply corrupt and venal man.
He is wildly unpopular, his agenda more so. He's lost the consent of the governed.
He is old, infirm & clearly no longer mentally competent to run a nation.

It is time now to start talking about him moving on👇
Growing list of reasons Trump should step down:
- Cover up of his involvement in notorious sex trafficking ring
- Unprecedented corruption, self enrichment
- Tariffs are historic, unprecedented abuse of power
- Illegal desecration of most important global symbol of American democracy

Excited to go with the family to see two IIHF World Juniors games in Minneapolis.

Definitely a bit more expensive than I would have thought but should be a good time and a unique experience.

Checking out Latvia vs. Canada and Czechs vs Denmark. Hoping some international fans will be there.

I think there’s a non zero chance Epstein helped Russia blackmail Trump. Would tie everything together in a nice little bow
NEW: Jeffrey Epstein said in emails that he had been advising the Russian government on how to deal with Donald Trump, one of several cases in which he wielded his connections to try to influence the course of foreign affairs. w @nahaltoosi

The New York Times had this information about Epstein and Trump a year before the 2016 election, and said "but her emails is a more interesting topic."

It was misogyny—the publication actively helped derail Hillary Clinton's campaign—but it really does look like catch and kill, too.
To recap: Jeffrey Epstein offered a NY Times reporter photos taken in Epstein's kitchen of Donald Trump and girls in bikinis *and* implored the NYT reporter to put this information in the public discourse in 2015

What did the NY Times editors know about this offer?
“would you like photos of donald and girls in bikinis in my kitchen?” -Jeffrey Epstein

Let’s see what the fallout is.
🚨BREAKING: Oversight Dems have received new emails from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate that raise serious questions about Donald Trump and his knowledge of Epstein’s horrific crimes.

Read them for yourself. It’s time to end this cover-up and RELEASE THE FILES.

Too many treat loss of public education as unfortunate collateral damage. But there is no greater democratic institution than the one responsible for renewing faith in and principles of democracy for each generation.
We lose public education, we lose the long game, the short game, the whole goddamn game, people.
"Should the school privatization agenda succeed, our education systems would be beyond all recognition—exponentially more stratified, segregated, and sectarianized than they are now, further balkanizing an already bitterly divided nation."
