This isn't a popular idea. This is an *elite* belief. There's no mass of voters who recoil from impeachment like this. Majorities wanted him convicted the last two times, and the same would easily poll >50% today. The handwringing about the sacred presidency is DC-driven, it's not voter-driven.
The popular idea is that removing a president to replace him with a non-criminal president from his party, and usually elected on his ticket, is a coup.

Do governors/mayors get replaced by number 2s all the time? Yes. There's poli sci work on this, the power of the presidency blinds people.

Lest you wonder, today I have commenced a review of οτι.

I've felt like crap since the evening of the 24th (sore throat, congestion, cough) but feel human enough to begin down this road.
I have a choice between working on review of οτι/ινα in the Shepherd of Hermas handbook, or watching Die Hard.

It's Christmas Eve. OF COURSE I'M WATCHING DIE HARD.

There are only two offenses the Constitution goes out of its way to specifically say merit impeachment, and this is one of them.
GOP operatives Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman, convicted election fraudsters, were paid $960,000 in the second quarter to secure a pardon for a former nursing-home operator who defrauded the government of $38 million. Trump pardoned the man, Joseph Schwartz, last month.

Even some of the president’s closest advisers have been surprised by a number of the recent series of pardons.

Bribery = Impeachment. Says so right in the Constitution. The Trump v US ruling does not protect Trump from this consequence. Keep the pressure on Congress to act and uphold their oath.
Do we already have a bribery impeachment article @citizensimpeachment.com?
The blatant selling of pardons is perhaps the clearest instance of criminal conduct authorized by SCOTUS. Pardons are a quintessential "official act." So, even when Trump takes a bribe to issue one, he is presumably above the criminal law.
The president’s own chief of staff was reportedly stunned by his pardon of a former Honduran president.

Example # 2,303,301 of a clip I'd like to show Republican friends and ask them "You do know this administration says things like this because they think you're too stupid to know that's not how it works, right? You do know it's an insult, right?"
Lutnick: "Donald Trump's economy grew 4.3%. That means that Americans overall, all of us, are going to earn 4.3% more money. We're making a raise, it's a simple way to do it."

How is this not impeachable?

Impeach
Convict
Remove
The Trump administration, at the President’s personal direction, is in the process of moving every death sentence commuted by Biden to this prison. They will be isolated 22 hours a day with one hour per MONTH of contact with the outside world. In a sane court, that is cruel and unusual punishment.

We see people saying “Republicans will never vote to impeach or convict Trump.”

To which we say:

Not with that attitude they won’t.

Our job is to remind everyone that yes, Republicans can. And yes, they did before. Because repeated messages spread, and we want to reinforce possibility over doom.
