I think we saw the resistance echoed (at least via lip service) by the big corps and institutions in the first term because they didn’t think Trump would actually come after them. Now they know he will, so they’ve all caved. Feels different even if the people are showing up to fight en masse

Someone bought a bunch of the turkeys and hams at our local grocery in town and told the manager to make them available for free to folks that need them. There’s a whole freezer case with a sign on it that just says “If you need one take one, if you don’t then leave it for someone else.”

NEWS: The Trump admin's decision to suspend SNAP benefits due to the shutdown has been blocked. In two cases, both judges found the government action is likely illegal. Although a judge in Mass gave the admin until Monday to reverse course, a judge in Rhode Island issued a TRO from the bench today.

below, Plaintiffs have standing to bring this action and are likely to succeed on their claim that
Defendants' suspension of SNAP benefits is unlawful. Where that suspension of benefits rested
on an erroneous construction of the relevant statutory provisions, the court will allow Defendants
to consider whether they will authorize at least reduced SNAP benefits for November, and report

I don’t think any of this would be going better if the people carrying out the mass deportation policy were better educated and more fit. I do think things would be much better if we didn’t keep treating this stuff as a somewhat legitimate exercise of power.

A mom in Houston reported her 15-year-old son with autism missing. She spent 6 days terrified, searching for him. The whole time, Houston police knew exactly where he was since they helped ICE place him in a refugee facility.

The entire incident is infuriating and terrifying. She’s a Latina woman who was working a service job. On her way home late at night, with her headphones in, she was detained for an hour by masked federal agents who wouldn’t give her their names.

Today they weaned Zephyr off of his iv and medications, and this afternoon he was able to eat some food and keep it down! Em was able to pick him up at 7 and take him home.

UPDATE: Zephyr came through his surgery all right! We are waiting for news on the biopsy they did, and they have to get him to eat some solid food before they will release him.
