My favourite Hiberno-English-ism isn't any of the obvious ones, it's the fact that when we say "sallow" we mean the opposite of what everyone else means. It's not sickly yellow, it's healthy, positive

sallow (comparative sallower, superlative sallowest)

(of skin) Yellowish.
(most regions, of light skin) Of a sickly pale colour.
(Ireland) Of a tan colour, associated with people from southern Europe or East Asia.

An IKEA instruction sheet for "NOSFERATU" that shows the bald-headed IKEA man telling you you'll need a hammer and a wooden stake for this. The next panel down shows two images. This is the way, IKEA man. The next panel shows IKEA man struggling to move a coffin on his own. The large black 'X' across this image shows what a terrible idea this is.
