I strongly disagree about democracy being contagious.
Most people are lazy and willfully stupid. Thinking takes energy and they would rather vegetate to Law and Order reruns.

I don't know if this is the explanation, but there are some nasty "block lists" going around (kind of link a starter pack in reverse), so some people are just blocking everyone on those lists without actually vetting.

I did notice that. Been on social media too long to panic. I do understand when people choose not to follow me, since I have a heavy stream and the amount of daily posts can be overwhelming...but on the other hand, we have people out there trying to police people in irritating ways.
