It’s wild how many of the ICE/CBP detentions are turning out to be illegal — and yet in the US system, there are no consequences for the agents and no recourse for the victims.

Appropriate reportung for this Veterans' Day...
“We are sick of politicians promising to look out for veterans when they are on the campaign trail and then abandoning them when they take office."

These veterans fought for the US. Now they’re fighting Trump’s VA cuts.

As a combat vet myself (Afghanistan 2007) I agree. There are some Republicans who are vets, but there are many more Dems by comparison these days
Today is Veterans Day, a day that Trump and Republicans pretend to care about those who served their country.

Unless it's a PR opportunity, troops, veterans, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice, never cross their mind.

The was a Republican shutdown because the GOP wouldn't negotiate — and Dems made that about their unwillingness to negotiate on extending the ACA subsidies.

If Dems vote for this, the answer to the "why did you do it for the past 40 days?" question becomes very difficult to answer.

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.

We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

A century ago America had socialists who ran for President. They were fearless prophets, speaking truth to power.
The American people need protection from those who seek to exploit the workers for every last penny.

Some decry this view as "socialism."

I call it fair.
