Much ink has been spilled to the effect of "trans girl spinny skirt cringe" but I don't think people realize how demandingly rigid the rituals of forced masculinity are. I was screamed at for wearing the "wrong colored" shoes. Let trans women be girls, most were not allowed to be.
One of the great things about being a trans woman is giving yourself permission to finally like cute things that weren't "socially acceptable" to enjoy before.

Tonight, I was one of more than 200 people who gathered on Chicago’s North Side to mourn Renee Nicole Good. Several people asked me to publish my remarks from the vigil, so I’m sharing them here.
Got a slightly better picture of one of the skinks that's been wandering around the fernery outside my window the last few days. Still kind of hard to see but it's the squiggly brown thing on top of the rock in the centre of the photo, just a little camouflaged against the dead fronds.

My overall Dorley take: This is seriously good shit. For all the absurdity sometimes it gets extremely real, and when it does it can hit very hard. This is both a warning and a commendation. This is a story I'll be carrying with me for a long time.
