For anyone curious about me, this is my current big plant project.
It's an 18x18x24 ExoTerra tropical terrarium (vivarium) for my ferns and micro-orchids, started in November 2022.

I wont tell my brother how many hours I'm putting into making this queen sized crochet blanket for him, but I will tell him that if we ever have a major falling out, I WILL repossess it from him.

Checked on #kakapo Hine Taumai's nest yesterday, and surprised to find her sunbathing on her nest! Some nests are very open to the elements, so we often add waterproofing to ensure the chicks don't get too wet.

Checked on #kakapo Hine Taumai's nest yesterday, and surprised to find her sunbathing on her nest! Some nests are very open to the elements, so we often add waterproofing to ensure the chicks don't get too wet.

Just realized that soon I'll be able to make my own custom shadowboxes to display some vintage Czech rhinestone jewelry like this piece I was just looking at on ebay.
I also have some smaller pieces from my great grandmother I'd like to frame.

My Pleurothallis dressleri micro orchid is flowering from a new spot, but I thought this was an interesting comparison of flower to leaf size ratio.
The flower is almost double the size of one of it's leaves, which have a very interesting 'watermelon' coloring.

I like how many species it supposedly has, including plants.
I'm always looking to introduce more moss, liverwort, plant, etc species to my terrariums and these kind of mixes work well for a natural look.

The main plant is a little Sinningia 'Wood Nymph' I got in 2023 and nearly killed. It's bouncing back though and I might take cuttings from soon.
There's also a nice patch of leafy liverwort in there that I really like.

This is my favourite portrait of the moss Bryum capillare, Capillary Thread Moss, on an ancient fallen trunk of Sambucus nigra, Common Elder. The development of corky bark is common with age, but this is a particularly splendid example.
