What used to motivate me to buy a new phone was functionality. The phone I had wouldn't be able to do the next-big-thing, so I would upgrade. But there hasn't been a next-big-thing in smartphones in a long time. My phone can do the same stuff the new ones do.
And it has a headphone jack.
