AI is reinventing acts of desperation from guaranteed political losers
Andrew Cuomo’s campaign just posted — and quickly deleted — this AI-generated ad depicting “criminals for Zohran Mamdani.”

Features a Black man in a keffiyeh shoplifting, an abuser, a trespasser, a trafficker, a drug dealer, and a drunk driver all declaring support for Mamdani.

It's official. Nearly 7 million people. Today is the single largest day of protest in American history. Americans from all corners of the country are standing up and saying #NoKings. This is what peaceful, patriotic protest looks like.

Extremely bad news if true (and unlikely this reporter would run with it if not). The MMWR has been the earliest warning bell for outbreaks since it announced the first US cases, in 1981, of what was later identified as AIDS.

This will be a grievous shock to what remains of US public health.
BREAKING: Friday night massacre underway at CDC. Doznes of "disease detectives," high-level scientists, entire Washington staff and editors of the MMWR (Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report) have all been RIFed and received the following notice:

All those folks who were like “pulling Colbert was just a business decision bc late night shows aren’t profitable; nothing to do with politics” still going with that argument?

MMR vaccines do not cause autism (see my 🧵 of studies)

At the same time, one potential cause of autism is rubella, which is *prevented* by MMR vaccines.

Which means...vaccines may actually help prevent autism.

Mixed ideology actors are often lethal when they act, but they are dangerous for another reason: They allow anyone looking at them to identify them as whoever you don't like. And it is that belief which will only beget more violence.

Interesting and makes sense—cars with their windows rolled up are basically little greenhouses.
Wild: Dark-coloured cars are the worst, making the air around them 3.8°C hotter vs nearby asphalt road.

Climate change is… not short on reasons to make us rethink what we’re doing with our cities

People who think of themselves as longtermists need to remember this. Technology is cool but chemistry is life.
Everything we've made will break, buildings and streets will crumble, and cities will be abandoned. But the CO₂ we emit into the atmosphere will persist for centuries, and the climatic impacts will last longer than human civilization has existed. This is our legacy for the future.
