Oh hi! 👋

I’m a mid-sized city childless dog lady escaping the bad place… where birds don’t sing (anymore). 🙅‍♀️

I long for the days where it was deeply uncool to be a shitty person. Where allyship and caring for the well-being of your community were noble pursuits.

Let’s change that, together. 🫶🏻

I would be very surprised if a full accounting in the future didn't reveal more than one mass grave at the detention centers. If they're behaving this way in public, what's happening out of sight must be many times more brutal.
Imagine what’s happening in the camps.
Imagine how much they’d be lying about what happened without all the videos showing it from multiple angles.

This is America’s domestic AND foreign policy.

Hope this is a wake up call for Canadians, especially those who would welcome annexation. Being white won’t help you, btw. You will still be seen as lesser than them by the regime. #cdnpoli
I said this last time but their real position is “if you disagree with us we can kill you.”

Transphobia is a cancer of the heart and mind.

It is a useless fear, based on ignorance and cruelty.

Trans people are not responsible for a single one of the problems we face.

Do the world a favor and grow the fuck up.

Reporters, if you wrote about learning loss due to covid school closures, you can write about learning loss due to state terror.
I am not being snarky. I need my colleagues who wrote on covid school lockdowns to engage with this. To be as loud as they have been about prior "learning loss." Hell, you can cite Tom & Mark's AERJ paper so you feel better that there's some econ somewhere in your argument.

Short of getting caught orchestrating a coup or assassination, this is absolutely the core case of what you expel an ambassador for.
Bessent pushes Albertan independence from Canada: "Albertans are very independent people. There's a rumor they may have a referendum on whether they want to stay in Canada or not. People are talking. People want sovereignty. They want what the US has got."

Absolutely damning letter detailing the need for aerosol protection to Canadian public health officials in MARCH 2020. The science was uncontroversial then and is even less so now. Anyone who claims otherwise is either ignorant, or lying.
This is an important read regarding what Canadian public health officials had been made aware of by subject matter experts as of March 19, 2020. I can see this being significant in legal actions, including Westray prosecutions once the special treatment ends.

Meanwhile, the rest of the world just watches in utter disgust. I’m sorry, but 40% approval? Still?
I will repeat: It is not obvious, based on the data, that campaigning on the economy in Nov would be significantly more effective than campaigning on immigration. Gov. policy is dramatically out of step with the public on immigration/deportations, and executive overreach is a potent motivator

A good reminder, and something I will try to do more often. 🤍📚
Look, I'm going to tell you a secret. If you buy an e-book while it's on sale, you never have to read it. If you have $2 to spare & want to help that particular author, you can just chuck the book into the oubliette of your TBR. Every sale helps. The author will never know, but you gave them a gift.

I cannot tell you how absolutely infuriatingly this stuff comes across to Europeans.

When we say America is no longer a reliable ally, it goes considerably deeper than Donald Trump himself. This kind of complacent, condescending shit is a *huge* part of it.

They need all protestors to be paid operatives because they cannot abide the possibility that somewhere in the world, people sincerely believe in standing up for others. It isn’t enough that they’ve chased all moral virtue from their own hearts. They want a world where no virtue exists in anyone.
Trump on Renee Good: "When she was shot, there was another woman that was screaming 'Shame. Shame Shame Shame.' So loud. Like a professional opera singer. She was so loud. And so professional. She wasn't a woman that was hurt like, 'Oh my heart is injured.' She was a professional."

I just hope he integrates that logic at home, where his signature policy is largely benefiting American extractive industry.

There's a whiplash hearing Mark saying this while, for instance, also pushing the public service to use American spyware like Copilot for government business.
