Clark: So what are we doing here today? You have already voted to dismantle medicaid, the largest health care program in America. A program that covers 40% of all births in this country. 40% of children in this country. 40% of disabled people in this country.

In September, federal agents swarmed a Hyundai manufacturing site, detaining more than 500 workers, including more than 300 from South Korea.

Now, nearly 200 detainees are preparing to sue ICE, alleging human rights violations and unlawful arrest.
These South Korean workers came to the US to build an EV battery plant. They left in shackles. They still want to know why

If I see any of you sickos wasting potatoes I swear to god
Under-the-weather TikTokers are slicing raw potatoes and placing them in their — and their children’s — socks before bed. The theory is that the potato draws out toxins.

However, experts warn against relying on folk remedies over medical care.
No, putting a potato in your sock will not cure a cold

WATCH — @repstevenhorsford.bsky.social : “My amendment would redirect that $40 BILLION from Argentina to fund the ACA subsidies for two years… a far better use of taxpayer dollars.”

Why do we have money for Argentina while our own people lose their health care? How does this make us great?

Trump works hard for Putin in the UN:
"the Trump administration is pushing to strip language from a resolution that affirms the country’s territorial integrity and condemns Russia’s occupation of Crimea and other regions"
How embarrassing for the US!

This seems like the most straightforward and also basically accurate message.
instead of saying this was good strategy, maybe senate dems should say: "the republicans were going to kill people by starving them to death, and because we aren't monsters, we decided to let this fight go. We'll keep fighting. Stop electing monsters."

The fight for healthcare right now can’t end with ACA subsidies. It HAS TO BE bigger. Too many Americans are suffering over medical debt and spiraling costs.

It should be nothing short of Medicare for All.

Trump: "We want a healthcare system where we pay the money to the people instead of the insurance companies. We're gonna be working on that very hard over the next short period of time. Where the people get the money. We're talking about trillions and trillions of dollars."

Utah now joins California in helping to cancel out Trump’s gerrymandering.

This is the easiest case for understanding gerrymandering. Salt Lake City, in the center of the state, is the only Dem leaning area in Utah. So GOPers divided the state into 4 districts, radiating out from SLC, cutting it into four quadrants, preventing the city from electing a Rep of their choice.

Will this be the new "if/or."
Why is no one talking about the GOP effort to sneak a nationwide abortion ban into the CR?

“Republicans said they might vote to lower Americans’ healthcare costs, but only if we agree to include a backdoor national abortion ban,” Wyden said in remarks on the Senate floor.

"Trump said he’d leave abortion care up to the states. Well, this latest scheme makes it crystal clear: A de facto nationwide abortion ban has been his plan all along," said Democratic Sen. Ron Wyden.

We live in a world where it's hip to be mean.

Mean is the point, whether we’re talking SNAP benefits or immigration or prison or economics. Human rights, civil rights and common decency are 20th century concepts. Like retirement. Or conversation.

Consider the case of Sim Butler and his family.
He fled Alabama to protect his family, and now he warns the world
“The weight of living in Alabama, of living in fight or flight every day, was something I didn’t realize I was carrying until I got out of there."

Learned this going through divorce and custody battles.
Standing up to a tyrant - who is willing to impose pain as leverage to compel loyalty or acquiescence - is hard. You can convince yourself that yielding stops the pain and brings you back to "normal".

But there is no "normal". Submission emboldens the tyrant. The threat grows.

The judge orders one of the two maps submitted by the plaintiffs ('map 1') be used.
