Damn cat bird comes out of nowhere. I hate catbirds. It's knocking on the door. Like it's trying to get in. I open the door and try to bat it away. I'm obviously failing. So I say whichever one of you crow bastards kills this thing I'll give a whole stack of peanuts to.

JFC. The hospital that my other mother is in caught fire last night. They got it contained. No one seems to be really hurt. But the ER there is shut down entirely. That is the main ER for a good chunk of the county I'm in. But... What the fuck!?

So yesterday I hurt myself. I was in the process of reorganizing my room – something I do fairly commonly because you know, OCD – and I managed to trip coming out of my bathroom. My bathroom is on a higher level than the rest of my studio so it has stairs.

I think the myth of the rugged individualist/pulling yourself up by the bootstraps is bullshit. Everybody gets help from somewhere. It might not be a lot of help, but it is help. You might not even realize it is help. Goods, services, all those sorts of things let you get a leg up in the world.
