I tried to read through the quoted post, and I have concluded I need to log off the internet forever because I can no longer tell who's being sincere and who's being sarcastic in that thread. /o\
only on this app will you have someone admonish another person over their exclusionary attitude and end it by calling them a plebian, cannot believe we get this for free
Because criticizing grammar is ableist bullshit most likely. You ARE an arrogant SOB.

Doubly so, given not a single part of your post follows traditional Western grammar rules.

Plebeian.

Okay, can someone explain to me what #unconfinedwalks is about? It just looks like regular walks to me. What makes a walk unconfined, exactly?

Did Kenvue Inc.'s CEO run over Trump's dog or something? I don't understand the sudden vendetta against Tylenol/acetaminophen.

Does someone have more insight into what's behind this?

At what point are we going to admit that the Notwithstanding Clause is no longer a "rarely used provision," since every single fucking Conservative government has used or is planning to use it to trample on the Charter rights of their constituents?

Why do we even have a "hidden fascism" clause?

How are we in 2025 and some people still don't know that The Onion is meant to be satire?

It’s the Year of Our Lord 2025 and people are still throwing their cigarette butts out the car window.

1- Ew, don’t do that.
2- It’s WILDFIRE SEASON, my dude! What the ever-loving FUCK?

The "good" news about undergoing an extended period of major personal stressors (moving/illness/partner surgeries/renovations/visiting relatives/financial crises/etc.) is that I've had very little time to spend on the internet, and therefore I am a lot less stressed about The Horrors.

Decided to finally read a Tom Clancy novel (The Hunt for Red October) and, uh, do ALL his books have this much info dumping/"As you know, Bob"-ing? Because Dear Lord, I feel like I'm reading bargain basement Victor Hugo with submarines.

Well, The Old Guard 3 had a very singularly annoying thing happen. Cannot say I appreciated that.

Otherwise it was pretty solid, but nowhere near as compelling as the first movie.

"Daily testing can offer misleading information, he said, because it takes at least a day for results to come back[...].

"To have people focus in on a water result that's 24 hours old isn't real time information," said Ruf."

Waiting a full week will DEFINITELY produce better results. 🙄
#Ottawa Public Health decided to go from daily checking of water contamination levels to once-weekly beginning the week of 21st June.
After heavy rains, they recommend that *you* look for dead fish, algae, & cloudy waters.
They're maintaining PH as an oxymoron.

“Do not, my friends, become addicted to water. It will take hold of you, and you will resent its absence.”
You can’t be “addicted” to a human right.

Friends who deal with anxiety, how on earth do you handle daily, multi-hour panic attacks when you have absolutely no choice but to be productive?

I am moving in two days and am very not ready, and the sudden onset panic attacks are seriously hindering my packing progress.

I must have been some sort of criminal in a past life, because it honestly feels like I am being punished for having the audacity to try to buy a house. Why can't things just go smoothly for ONE DAY?

Reskeet with the five shows you would be happiest to have to rewatch over and over for the rest of your life, as your sole TV diet.

Oof, this one is hard.

The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (the Jeremy Brett version)
Babylon 5
Campion (although I am sad there are only two seasons)
Leverage

I decided to watch The Handmaid's Tale (don't come for me about white woman fantasies, I KNOW the history on which it's based). I had watched the first two seasons when they aired six-ish years ago, and then stopped because it felt uncomfortably close to torture porn. 🧵

I know this isn't an original thought, but companies have been experiencing a "higher than average call volume" since 2020. At a certain point you'd think they'd adjust their messaging to reflect their actual statistics. It can't have been "higher than average" for 5 years. It's just average now.
May 23, 2025 at 4:13 PM
I really wish phone menus would stop harping on about using the company's app or website. Bitch, if I could do this using the app or website, do you think I'd be waiting on the phone in the year of our Lord 2025? I would like nothing better than to be online instead of on the phone!

This is incredibly niche, but I was literally in my 20s when someone told me that the Polkaroo was played by the male host of The Polka Dot Door, and that's why they never interacted onscreen. ("Aww, man, I missed him AGAIN!")

Like, it makes perfect sense, but I had never thought about it. 🤦‍♀️
Folks, get in here. We’re admitting all the dumb wrong shit we believed until we were way too old.
Fun fact: until I was appreciably into my 20s, I thought they were called oncologists because they were always “on call.”

When she was 82, my mother's GP refused to get her screened for breast cancer when she found a lump, because, and I quote: "You're too old and going to die anyway."

She DID have cancer, and managed to get screened. She's 88 now, and in full remission.

The screening standards need revision.
Hello, in case you were wondering about this: because false positives are so common and prostate cancers tend to grow very slowly, doctors do not usually recommend prostate cancer screening for men over 70.

I wonder if Law & Order: SVU ever stopped using the T-slur to refer to transgender people. So far I'm at the end of Season 5 and they're still using it. Eesh.
May 13, 2025 at 7:39 AM
I decided to watch Law & Order SVU as a mindless background thing (yes, I know it's copaganda), and GOOD FUCKING LORD this Season 4 episode about a trans woman is HORRIFYING on all levels. The misgendering, the slurs, the "trans panic..."

FUCKING HELL. I hope the writers are ashamed now.
