Heute darf ich euch das Cover meiner Novelle »Wen die Nacht verschlingt« zeigen! Ich entführe euch ins niedersächsische Moor. Meine Geschichte ist der dritte Teil der Cold-Creeps-Reihe, die vom Dark-Empire-Verlag veröffentlicht wird. Die zwölf Bände der Reihe sind unabhängig voneinander lesbar.🌙 1/3
Das Foto zeigt zwei Teile einer Zeitung, die in der Mitte gespalten ist. Ein Cover (Titel noch unleserlich) schaut daraus hervor. Auf der Zeitung sitzen Motten (schwarz, weiß und gelb). Im Vordergrund steht: "Bist du bereit für einen Blick in die Nacht?" (Auf der Zeitung sind Überschriften zu sehen. "Euch verschlingt die Nacht" und "Nieder mit der Nachtdiktatur".) Das Foto zeigt zwei Teile einer Zeitung, die in der Mitte gespalten ist. Augen schauen dazwischen aus der Dunkelheit hervor. (Auf der Zeitung sind Überschriften zu sehen. Doch er ist nicht der Einzige, der zur späten Stunde unterwegs ist. Im nahegelegenen Helstorfer Moor macht sich etwas anderes auf den Weg. Ein Stern flackert, die Tiere schreien. Kurts Taschenlampe erlischt. Die Dunkelheit kommt, und sie verschlingt nicht nur das Licht. Der Albtraum beginnt: Kurts Kinder Imke und Noah müssen sich den Schatten ihrer Vergangenheit und den düsteren Geheimnissen des Moores stellen. Niemand ist sicher. Tropes - Eerie swamp landscape - Darkness = death - The secret is out there - Fear of the unknown - Strange incidents" Im Hintergrund ist eine Art Tapete mit Augen und Blumen zu sehen. Im Mittelgrund ist ein rotes Textfeld, eingerahmt von Motten (schwarz, weiß und gelb). Im Textfeld steht: "Wen die Nacht verschlingt von Marie Meier. Release: 02. Dezember Jetzt vorbestellbar." Darunter ist das Logo des Dark Empire Verlags zu sehen (ein stilisierter Totenkopf mit Burg und Schreibfeder). Darunter eine Zeichnung von Jules B. Asches, die eine Totenkopfmotte auf einer Hand zeigt.

Last night’s film, OUTLAND (1981). In the period between Bond & his late 1980s renaissance as older sex symbol, Sean Connery did some really Interesting films. Solid mix of low-fi SF, western & bad town noir. Could argue Connery at his best when he wasn’t firm in his footing, as seems the case here

Drachen und Zutaten strikt getrennt zu halten, ist eine der wichtigsten, aber zugleich schwierigsten Aufgaben in jeder Küche. Dazu bedarf es langjähriger Erfahrung und äußerster Entschlossenheit.
Flüchtige Tinten- und Buntstiftskizze: Ein älterer Mann mit grauen, im Nacken zusammengebundenen Haaren trägt ein einfaches weißes Hemd und steht hinter einem braunen Küchentisch. Mit der linken Hand schiebt er eine grüne Schale, die vielleicht Rosinen enthält, beiseite, mit der rechten hat er einen kleinen grünen Drachen gepackt und hochgehoben, der sich sehr für diese Schale zu interessieren scheint. Links im Vordergrund sind ein paar Pastinaken und Zwiebeln und ein braunes Gefäß zu erkennen.

Ich mag den Sidney Lumet - Klassiker von 1974 sehr, aber die TV-Version von "Murder on the Orient Express" (2010) mit David Suchet ist mit ihrer extrem bedrückenden und düsteren Atmosphäre auf jeden Fall eine interessante Alternative.

Btw: Lohnt der Brannagh-Film vom 2017 eine Sichtung?
