Unlike English, Malay has no grammatical gender. In Malay, the word "dia" serves as a universal pronoun, referring to both men and women, but has different pronouns when referring to the third person for different classes: "beliau" refers to VIP and "baginda" to royalty. Absolute classist.

I spent the past couple of days in Melaka, wandering around lil alleys and cafes and quaint museums. What a lovely place. Kudos to the Tourism Board - such good infra and really well thought out activities. I loved it.

I wonder if bsky is familiar with Malaysian fish head noodles. The broth is made by frying fish bones to a crisp and aggressively boiling it to create a milky white broth from emulsifying the proteins and oils. Typically served with rice vermicelli and fried fish, like this red snapper head.

Visited Sungai Tekala recreational forest yesterday for the Labour Day holiday, turns out a thousand other ppl had the same idea, everyone was having BBQ picnics, making the entire forest smell like a satay stall.
