Settle an argument.

If you see a nice car in public, say a Porsche or a Ferrari... is it a faux pas to lick the emblem?

Boundary crossed, or no?

I love cars, and I love music.

I got to shoot a music video with a fine fleet of cars. We drag raced, spilt vital fluids, and somehow kept a fussy German engine ticking over for the whole damn weekend.

How I Shot A Music Video With Zero Budget And Four Awesome Cars - The Autopian
As an auto writer, it’s easy to get lost in the job. Every day you wake to a blank page and a blog screaming for articles, and you forget that it’s actually supposed to be about the cars. For me, it h...

We don't talk about regional kinks enough.

In Western Australia they drink spearmint milk.

A beverage crafted in sheer defiance of God, localised solely within its borders.

Regular mint was not scathing enough. The green elixir needed the searing toothpastey flavor only spearmint could deliver.

Questionable article from Jalopnik.

Not sure how iridium plugs would give an engine more "pep" or better fuel economy.

He wakes up in the shower, and because he looks nothing like Daniel Craig... everyone knows it's a new story
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

What bothers me most is that thousands of educators thought it was totally okay to teach kids to guess instead of read

I'm not sure what vexes me more, that these are edible, or that people desire to eat them.

...okay, I'd probably try one
That would be good, with a couple of those century eggs.

A feature I've pitched a few times: outlets should have a "random" button that shows you a quality longform article you haven't read before.

Particularly easy to do for readers that are logged in to the site.
Please share your favorite New Yorker longreads. Specifically The New Yorker, not other outlets. I need more bedtime reading and the New Yorker app has (1) dark mode and (2) no ads.

recently I had a senior automaker PR person try and reach out to me personally and I was like "oh this must be some important thing" and then they just sent me a random press release for a minor car feature and I was very confused

I know this is gonna seem petty or ridiculous but I just can't abide lake freighters

it's a lake!!! go around it! or build a bridge or something! none of this nonsense about big boats landlocked in relatively small bodies of water!

I haven't been able to build or do anything meaningful since 2020. I hate it. I've tried so many things but the magic won't come back.

I checked out of curiosity and Billy Madison the Adam Sandler movie from the 90s has like 8 funko Pop models, I could maybe understand one, but multiple? And one for ‘Danny McGrath?’ One for the penguin hallucination? Who is buying that?
