Watching my favorite Japanese TV show where they interview people about what they're having for lunch, and today‘s guests are two sweet potato farmers that drink Monster Energy with every meal.

I guess this is a modern equivalent of a DVD bonus feature... here are some clips from the interviews that didn't make it into our final cut of The Last Independent Automaker.

All great people; we just couldn't squeeze everything into our 3-hour time limit for the show.

My friend was an AMC/Jeep salesman in Connecticut back in the 70s/80s, and he said snow plows were an amazing sales tool. You tell a young guy that if he spends a couple hundred bucks extra on a plow, his Jeep CJ will pay for itself. Sealed the deal in a lot of cases.

YouTube must hate our behind-the-scenes podcast, because it's absolutely wrecked my algorithm.

However, I still think our conversations are fun, interesting, and can perhaps inspire other automotive filmmakers to create car stories of their own:

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.

I’m watching a 1990s documentary about Pittsburgh, and there’s a guy eating ribs at a BBQ restaurant in a shirt that says, “I’m not DRUNK, I’m just a RACE FAN.”

Anyways, here's a really low-quality music video of Conway Twitty driving up to an ex-girlfriend's house in an AMC Pacer wagon, badly lip-singing, then driving away.

Marketplace has decided the only 2 cars I'm allowed to buy are clapped out Model S's and 1950s Kaisers.

Apropos of @lgr-yt.bsky.social releasing a new "Thrifts," this week my cousin's wife found a stack of his senior high school photos at a thrift shop... hundreds of miles away from his home town.

Figures that after finally putting in the effort to set up an antenna and watch a Steeers game for the first time in 2 years (I don’t have cable or ESPN+ or whatever), they’d play like garbage and lose.

"Might be a little dust on the bottle, but it's one of those things that gets sweeter with time."
Guess I'm morally obligated now to buy a 2013 Model S with free supercharging and use it to bankrupt the company.

Despite accusations of using AI (or my one aunt who thought it was my voice in disguise) we hired a real, live human being to narrate our documentary.

Check out our interview with voice-over artist, actor, SCUBA diver, and former "The Price is Right" winner, Ted Limpert:

10 years ago I had the silly idea to make a big documentary about a dead car company. This year, with the help of hundreds of people smarter, wiser, and more generous than me, we finally made it happen.

I'll be forever grateful to those who helped make this dream come true. And that includes you!

With MTV closing up shop, I once again have to thank @theautopian.bsky.social for letting me write a story that was way too cool for any other car blog: the 1980's Plymouth Duster commercial made specifically for the 1st ever Music Video Awards!
