It just doesn’t get NIMBYer than Annapolis freaking Maryland and Chelsea’s spouse is an urbanist ready to tackle the NIMBYs. If you’re pissed at Schumer, start in your own back yard. I assure you there’s a Schumer or ten in your state legislature, on your city council, on your school board.
Very personal example: My spouse won two local elections (2021 + 2025) on an unapologetically pro-housing, pro-working class platform even though the city of Annapolis has a strong and vocal anti-housing contingent. You can run on your values (or support those who do) and show folks what's possible!

Feeling spicy might delete but I used to work with Chuck Schumer's eldest daughter, and when she was getting ready to go to Yale Law she was dissatisfied with her financial aid package so she made them do a three way call (at the office) with her and her dad to push for a better package

LRT and this speaking specifically to LLMs. One person has told me how if affirmatively helps them. Every other defense of LLMs has been wrong (e.g., the point of HS and college papers is not the product, but the process and learning from it) or fantastical (e.g., “well imagine one day you can…”)
No one can tell me a single good use for it, for me. I have asked. Not a one.
What am I supposed to use it for? To summarize my emails? Too long, wrong. To write things? Too long, wrong. To plan trips? Planning is FUN and why would I outsource that? I played with it a bit six months ago, it was meh.

I think a lot about the story Carl Reiner told: he’d have been a sewing machine repairman if not for a free WPA drama class. That led to other theater work, to Sid Caesar, to Mel Brooks, and all the rest. All because of one free class paid for by a government that felt the arts were worth teaching.

I feel strongly that much of the “rapist and murderer” crowd was not deceiving themselves, but deceiving others. This IS what they wanted because they want non-white folks to live in perpetual fear. They said the “rapist and murderer” line because they KNOW it’s evil to want what they want.

I just spent an hour chasing these ICE jagoffs through Bridgeport. They detained and questioned two old Chinese ladies (clearly dangerous criminals) then let them go. They are terrorizing the entire neighborhood. There have been people abducted this morning. I'm beyond enraged.
