Full review running tonight, but if you love Downton Abbey and Airplane, you're going to LOVE watching Fackham Hall. This is a comedy that truly works best when watching with an audience. Solo viewing a screener at home just isn't the same. @bleeckerstfilms.bsky.social @legionmofficial.bsky.social

Saw Spinal Tap 2 with @mzspress.bsky.social. I'm not sure how trustworthy might take is, because I'm totally the target audience for this, but I laughed a lot, even though it's barely a movie. Everybody's really good, but I think McKean is the best of the bunch. Genuinely moving at times.

Spinal Tap II may be a legacy sequel that didn't need to exist, but at least for Tap-heads like me, it's a sweetly nostalgic bundle of improv sketches w/ 3 leads who've been making music & comedy together for 40+ years. I may or may not still have "Hell Toupée" in my head.

The Spinal Tap Sequel Might Not Quite Go to 11, but That’s Not to Say It Doesn’t Rock
History’s greatest mockumentary finally has a sequel. There’s a reason it has so many cameos.

Somewhat appropriately, Spinal Tap II is like when an old rock band does a farewell tour where they just play their hits and bask in their fans’ adoration. There’s nothing like the ingenuity and inspiration of the original movie. But ... I laughed.

Absolutely, 100% in love w/RELAY. A grand thriller in the vein of CHARADE--the Cary Grant vibes Riz Ahmed gives off are superb--& THE CONVERSATION. More importantly it uses sound & the relay phone service for Deaf users so fantastically. I'm gonna be hyping this one a lot between now and August 22.

this is the level of funding where all the possibilities for American politics that have been described as hyperbolic over the past decades - the comparisons to Nazi Germany and other nightmares of the 20th century - become logistically possible and politically likely
If the GOP reconciliation bill passes, ICE gets through FY2029:

- $45 billion for detention, on top of the current annual budget of $3.4 billion
- $14.4 billion for transportation and removal, on top of the current annual budget of $750 million
- $8 billion for hiring/retention
- Billions more.
