Hello and welcome to my corner of the internet. I'm a queer human who writes to breathe and breathe to write.

This morning, evangelical churches across the country will be praising God for the b0mbs dropped in the name of their own 'safety.' This is what Christian nationalism does for power. This is what 'gaining the world but losing your soul' looks like. And this is all connected to the ongoing gènòçìdè.

again I hate to sound like an old lady, but the Iraq War directly influenced the two presidential elections that followed for Democrats, especially, and Barack Obama won in 08 because he wasn’t in the Senate to cast a vote on the Iraq War and got to say he opposed it when Hillary Clinton didn’t
tldr Chuck Schumer: I wanted war with Iran just not like this.
Schumer puts out a statement: "We must enforce the War Powers Act, and I’m urging Leader Thune to put it on the Senate floor immediately. I am voting for it and implore all Senators on both sides of the aisle to vote for it."

This is what I grew up with. And when I reference the genocide of Palestinians and the war with Iran to my parents, they say, “I’m glad, it means Jesus will come back soon.”
The American evangelical right is absolutely shitting themselves with excitement over this. There is nothing on planet earth that they want more then a destabilized Middle East at war to trigger the rapture. This is 100% fact even though it sounds ridiculous.
MAGA voted for the Book of Revelations, and we’re getting it.

I am deeply worried about folks knowing where to find each other as surveillance gets worse. There are so many people who - if their social media accounts were terminated tomorrow - wouldn't know their friends/allies phone#s or addresses. How will folks keep each other safe in the dark? #organizing

More details: ICE goons were turned away at HD Cooke. They tried to seize the school nurse in the parking lot without a warrant, but backed off after staff intervened.

I get it. It's hard for some folks to come to terms w/ how the institutions that are supposed to protect our rights, to be the firewall, are...not that. The sooner we abandon the idea that America is somehow "exceptional" in its ability to be fascist-resistant, we can be honest about what we face.

Many people are deeply resistant to the idea that fascist strategies are in use, bc in their minds (&the mind of Hollywood) 'fascism' is defined not as a set of targeted rule but as 1940s Germany. I don't know how to convey it looks different when the country is much larger and in the age of tech.

We can be marginalized on one axis (by being trans for example) and do harm on another (say, through whiteness).
