Went for only my second run since moving to the southern hemisphere! I never know how to pace myself after a break. But I did a km without stopping, too fast really, but still, it was running.

Going to attempt my first run in 6 months or something. Waiting until it is a little cooler than 22 degrees outside. Bit salty that I have to drive somewhere to go running but it is what it is.

This is Ollie. He found a perfectly placed carrot snack on his walk. Simply can't believe his luck. 13/10 best day ever (TT: maxime_aries)

As a kid, I stole from my mum's handbag. Not money; I would take her tasty Rennies or Remegel antacids like sweets. As an adult with Gastro-Oesophageal Reflux Disease, I now appreciate how annoying that must have been.

Making good headway with PhD work today. It’s nice when things start to come together.

Got a haircut booked today. Bit nervous about it because I really need some of the weight taken out because I look like a medieval lute player, but also I am really trying to grow it past my shoulders for the first time in several years.

It’s immensely sweet how apologetic all medical staff are about my student medical insurance not covering any forms of contraception. It is not their fault!!

It’s all fun and games* being on a stipend/not very high income until your walking shoes wear out at the heel.

Look, I know Kiwis famously have January as a holiday but there’s no need for all the medical test labs to shut at 4 for the whole month.

Had 2 weeks off (except for reading), but I am staring PhD work again today. First thing to do is actually pin down and accurately describe my methods.

it's funny when watching US movies or tv shows i used to be like "man, they sure do use food poisoning as a plot device *a lot* in america..."

then i learned their food poisoning statistics and it blew my mind. that's just how they live!

people DIE of food poisoning regularly in the US.

it's MAD.
