I'm old enough to remember when the proponents for TMX being built, saying it would create long term good paying jobs. How is that going? Since May 2024 there have been THOUSANDS of jobs lost in Alberta oil/gas. However, RECORD profits for oil/gas. SO you want another pipeline huh?

General bookings for COVID-19 vaccines opened — in theory — three weeks ago in Alberta.
I still haven't been able to book any for my children.
Just tried again this morning and got hung up on again by Alberta's 811 HealthLink, with an automated message blaming "higher than expected call volume."

The only way to book COVID vaccines for young children in Alberta is by calling 811 / HealthLink.
Bookings opened Monday.
It’s now Friday and the system is still saying call volumes are too high and auto-hanging-up on callers. 🙃
(They also cost $100 a pop, if you can ever get through.)

Daisy and I have decided to give our new makeshift "guest bedroom" in the basement a test drive. A modest queen size bed, which is so far very comfy, an area rug and a squishy chair.
My biggest mistake seems to be that I thought 3 pillows would be good enough. Heading upstairs to grab 2 more.

We compromised, supper at the regular time, but a different time on the clock... I believe that means she won.

I lost interest and energy after about 50 kids, so I just put my candy bowl out on the step. I love that the kids who came after that we're so considerate. As I was puttering inside, I saw 2 groups come, and each kid took only one or two candies for their bag, leaving plenty for the next ones 💜

I love that my grumpy neighbours (with three grown-up kids who have all moved away) still go all out to decorate their yard for the little ones every Halloween 💜
