12 days of Christmas are so old hat. Since Boxing Day we’ve been celebrating 3.142 days of pie instead.

Couldn’t see sunset on the solstice (thanks, cloud cover), but here we are a week later. There’s a tall stone in the outer ring of the stone circle, and a pointy one inside the inner ring which pretty much align through the centre on the sunset.

Chuck in a bit of variation for dipole wobble… 🤷‍♂️

Been going through boxes of stuff in search of roasting tins. No luck yet, but found these thermometers which we tested by leaving them in the living room while we went out for healthy festive stomp.

It is Book Quote Wednesday and the word is 'easy'. In Dust Up at the Crater School by Chaz Brenchley it is Christmas time on Mars and Charm Buchanan is telling her dorm a famous Martian ghost story. Things are not going to end well. #BookQW

Also, the shutters are back in place after stripping, woodworm treatment, and repainting. Final step is to fabricate a replacement centre panel (instead of that fine cardboard box). And a slimline draught excluder to sit on the sill.

Just got a random Merry Festmas email from the static caravan dealer we last spoke to in winter 2019/20 when we checked out static caravans so we could live on site while doing up this house but the pandemic happened, and planners happened, and we rented a house for another two years instead, and >

Writing fiction can get really complicated.
This sounds like an enemies-to-lovers romance protagonist trying to convince herself that she's *really* going to kill the person she's been hired to assassinate though she's fallen in love with them. It's just going to end up in bed with your story in the end!

Tonight’s portalage tastes much better than Sunday’s. Same bottle of Dow’s.

This is a deep and thorough-going mystery that defies all rational explanation.

Have finally grouted the utility tiles we added in autumn 2022, the kitchen sink splashback from 2024 (IIRC), and the tiles beneath the window above the cupboard with the stoptaps. Also resealed the oak worktop around the Belfast sink, and sealed round the add-on ceramic draining board.

Tired now.

One more for my theory that the AI bubble burst will happen sooner than later. When luxury brands start publicly making a big deal out of not using AI, they're saying AI use is antithetical to the brand.

The brand is quality. AI is not. That's the message.
Porsche reportedly created their new ad without using any AI.
