I know the U.K. Left hates Mandelson but dark times call for dark arts & Mandy is clever, slippery & unpredictable. No point playing by the Queensberry Rules in a street fight.

So a reminder:

It’s not ‘liberals’ saying Hegseth abuses women. It’s his mom.

It’s not ‘liberals’ comparing Trump to Hitler. It’s his vice-president.

It’s not ‘liberals’ calling Musk a liar and a racist. It’s his own child.

For the record.

Hodge last week backed calls for Starmer to close the loophole allowing foreign billionaires like Elon Musk to bankroll British politicians

Finding this almost tearfully moving.
Tonight the light is on in the front bedroom of 251 Menlove Avenue in south Liverpool, where John Lennon lived from the age of five, on what is the 44th anniversary of his death.

And, of course, to benefit from the otherwise untapped talent of excellent but poorly resourced students. We should always remember; this is about talent first and money second.
MIT announced that it would eliminate tuition costs next fall for all undergraduate students whose families earn less than $200,000 per year — following a national movement to try to make higher education more accessible. nyti.ms/3V6GVia

“Its replacement, the Turing scheme, is less inclusive and far narrower in scope: there is no funding for overseas students to come to the UK, and students from disadvantaged backgrounds receive less funding than under Erasmus+.”
Bring back Erasmus+ and youth mobility in Europe
Taking Britain out of the Erasmus+ programme was a huge mistake. Labour must rejoin and accept the EU’s offer of a youth mobility scheme

This part of the Strand in London used to be a congested road for cars. Now it’s a magnetic place for people.

Good trade.

It can feel hard to muster the vision and leadership needed for smart urban change. But it pays off with a better city. Gorgeous pic by @livinglondonhis.

The depressing reality.
Across Europe and the US, neither the centre-right nor centre-left (i.e. Liberal democracy) know how to deal with the far-right insurgency. Why? Because they have no policy to deal with growing inequality, unlike the far-right, which (acting on behalf of billionaires), pretend to
