Lots of great #ottbike destinations! Including yesterday’s @carleton.ca Ravens baseball game.

16km mostly on multi-use pathways, with a awkward pseudo-sidewalk bit on Greenbank and no protection from #autowa with painted lines on Fallowfield.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Franco-Ontarian flag with festivities culminating on Franco-Ontarian Day.
Let’s celebrate this day in green and white to honour and recognize the great contributions made by the Francophone community.

👍 You don’t need to convince me but you do need to convince:
- your MPP
- your MP
- your Mayor
- your employer
- your neighbours

Hi @glengower.ca! I know you already know this, but OC Transpo is in the news and I would like to humbly and publicly request that transit in our city receives more funding, not less.

Lots of love,
Mike

KEEP CREATING STARTER PACKS AND SHARING THOSE CREATED BY OTHERS! It’s a great way to keep growing this place and the many communities we have here!
NEW STARTER PACK! I decided that “Better Transportation & Mobility” deserved its own starter pack. There are others out there on transportation, streets, bikes, public transit etc but this one has my faves. Who have I missed? Please explore, follow and share! #UrbanistShoutOut go.bsky.app/MBL7PrE

Unique experience as part of the volunteer safety flotilla for the 3.9k swim at the inaugural #ironmanottawa this morning. Congrats to all the Ironman triathletes!

I voted against the 2025 transit budget because I don’t believe that these trade-offs are acceptable. Raise the levy and make transit more affordable for everyone. Kids should be free. This is the transit death spiral in action.

Another cyclist has died on Ottawa's streets today - a 70-year-old woman. I'm struggling to find the words to say how distressing I find the regularity with which serious and deadly collisions are happening right across the city. We don't know who this woman is, yet - but I know she was loved.
We are seeking witnesses of a fatal collision that occurred today around 12:30 p.m. on Mitch Owens Rd between Spratt/Limebank Rd.

Volunteering as a safety boat on the Kichi-Sìbì = stellar canoe vantage point for the 3km open water swim at today’s 18th edition of Bring on the Bay. All proceeds from the swim event will be donated to Easter Seals Ontario, benefiting children with physical disabilities in the Ottawa area.

STARTER PACK: Big Champions for Better Cities!

I have a bunch of other starter packs with more variety (check those out to find very deserving accounts to follow), but this one is focussing on some high profile champions with large audiences, for people starting out here or wanting to learn more.
