I think a lot of us get hope wrong. Hope, I do not believe, is an emotion. In fact, hope makes space for lots of emotions to exist alongside it. You can DO hope scared, angry, sad etc...

Also if it makes you uneasy/uncomfortable to be angry at a staffer and not the member of Congress, you can be angry to a machine that way. As someone who has senators that don’t listen to him, still call them. Annoy the fuck out of them.
