Even from what definitely isn't a dissociative state induced by the collapsing empire all around us, this is genuinely shocking.

But so was the demolition of the East Wing of the White House; something I thought I had zero attachment to

The White House Intervened on Behalf of Accused Sex Trafficker Andrew Tate During a Federal Investigation
Federal authorities were chided for seizing electronic devices from Tate and his brother, and told to return them, records and interviews show. Experts said the intervention was highly inappropriate.

The Declaration of Independence specifies 27 grievances with King George III and Britain.

Donald Trump and his regime have committed at least 20 of those same offenses highlighted in yellow.

Breaking: Trump has officially lost the Nobel Peace Prize.

Instead, the Nobel committee is awarding the leader of the opposition in Venezuela for supporting “democracy over dictatorship.”

The Norwegian Nobel Committee on Friday said the recognition would instead go to Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado.

I wish our leaders understood that you can't use logic to win against a fascist. Fascism is inherently illogical and in order to believe Trump, you have to already be disconnected from reality

The distortion of what is true is the entire point. Enemy within, indeed
Then why are you providing a $20 billion bailout to Argentina and helping them cut deals with China that crush American soybean farmers?

Students of history will recall that Eisner helped get us into this mess. Eisner's company-first policies at Disney helped normalize the idea that companies owed their workers nothing beyond a paycheck. CEOs are not coming to save us.
Michael Eisner, who served as CEO of Disney for 21 years and acquired ABC while he was in charge, slams his successor Bob Iger for bending the knee.

We must also paint a picture of the world we want to inhabit. It's not enough to defeat this new iteration of hatred. We have to know what comes next.

And that conversation has to start with real equality and justice for all.
Previous generations fought fascism in nearly every corner of the earth. Today it’s on our streets, silencing opposition and attempting to control the airwaves.

The GOP has declared all out war on free speech. It’s up to us to fight for it.

The Democrats love power, not democracy, so of course they aren't going to let the Republicans have the fascism all to themselves

And then you continue to be at risk if there's too much covid around you once the vaccine has fully activated because the vaccines we have, while miraculous, are not sterlizing and do not stop transmission chains.

People can and do contract covid while up to date on their shots. Mask up. 😷
I will never understand people who go to get a COVID vaccine but don’t wear a mask while getting one.

It takes a while for COVID vaccine protection to kick in, you are still at risk while you are getting vaccinated and several days afterwards.

Hot take: measures taken to save lives don't have to be cost effective. Human life is of immeasurable value
US COVID-19 school closures were not cost-effective, but other non-pharmaceutical interventions were, study finds

Pre-vaccine, governments relied on NPIs: masks, distancing, testing, tracing, closures.

School closures averted 77,200 deaths, cut transmission 8.2%, but may cost $2T in future losses.
