When a NBA franchise wants to bring in a “culture” or “player’s” HC: they normally leans toward black people. When they are “ready to win” or want to be a “smarter” team, that normally leans non-black.

There’s been progress — 7/15 are women, including 2 of color — but for a league that’s 60%+ black, does raise questions about why coaching hires don’t better reflect that.
