Anytime I hear anyone complain about college athletes being 'mercenary' during the transfer portal, I'm going to punch them in the nose. 😂

I'm catching up on sex scandal gossip regarding horrible or horrible-adjacent political people and no, I shall *not* be googling what THAT word means. This Prestige Millennial will live happily in blissful ignorance.

The rhetorical questions abound...

How the hell do you go on playing a football game after one of your players stabs two of your OTHER players that morning? Like, how the hell do you do that?

Now, how do you ask 18-22 year olds to do that? Play a GAME?

I would just like to point out, for the record, that the only creative with a spotless film resume died young from lung cancer before his fifth film released. Everyone has a few stinkers. Take a breath. Go watch another movie and cleanse the palate.

(It's John Cazale, btw. RIP Fredo.)

Is it like a weird, naked, rectangular, savory pie?
how tf do you succinctly explain what a casserole is to a non-American?

it’s…a big baked food dish cooked in a casserole dish.

help me out

What is the best site quality wise for T-shirts? In the past I worked with a local printer but I’ll need to use a site that can handle both printing and shipping and I don’t want the shirts to be shitty…what site has the best T-shirt quality?

As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

Admittedly, I'm talking about degrees of success here, but if you want to drill into avoiding flat failure and instead deploy success at a cost (ie. "ok you do it BUT...") I really, REALLY recommend this excellent blog post by @rdonoghue.bsky.social on risks.

Risks
I’m going to make an assumption at this point that as a GM, you’ve got a pretty solid grasp on success and failure. You understand that failure should not stop play, and that you should…

For the curious, this is my favorite b&w photo from that trip, and it makes me want to experiment with underexposure more as this should not have come out given how dark it was and I had zero shutter speed or aperture control with the Olympus Superzoom. I have no idea what the camera had to do here.

Possibly my favorite picture (in color, not involving close friends) from my trip to the UK. Coast of Scotland, just outside Cruden Bay, en route to New Slains Castle.

"Leave you out to collect dust as I can't bring myself to begin the repetitive cycle of work in a sprawling and massive world that may actually be simply too difficult for me to perform effectively with leaving me to get stuck a third of a way through the narrative with no resolution?

Like that?"
“Play with me like you play with your controller.”

*full body slam and throws across the room.

Sometimes you need yourself some constraints to rein in your boundless creativity.

And sometimes you need a push when nothing comes to mind.

Both are valid play styles.
Good morning to the D&D players who pick out their character’s class after everyone else has chosen so they can fill whatever role the party needs, and to them only.

Oh shit...SHIT...

THIS is why I hate drawing maps. I'm never, EVER satisfied let alone accurate or realistic.
Reason 1,999 your Fantasy maps have too few roads. Seriously 'High Fantasy' needs to compete with the Roman Empire or wtf is going on in your setting.
Wow! 😮🤩
There's a new interactive map of Every Known Road in the Roman Empire!! 🤓

The concept of a well-run business is, clearly, undeniably, a myth. It's all inertia and brute-force wealth.
"I was in charge of a department that wasted a fuckton of money based purely on assumptions that nobody attempted to validate at any point. We failed completely and repeatedly to achieve any of our goals."

I would never show my face in public again, these people are utterly shameless

Feels like the suit gets so agonizingly close to a profound realization and yet takes the last-minute off-ramp on "was never going to work in the first place" as the final answer rather than "lots of us HATE Amazon and use Twitch begrudgingly because we love the streamers, not the platform." 🧵
I legitimately didn't know they were competing with Steam and it's crazy to me that they burnt so much money on what sounds like something with very little (or wildly misguided) market research.

This feels like the last 20 years summed up quite nicely
"We build a solution to a problem that was already solved years and years ago" sure is a sales pitch.

Hard Rock? WTF??? Are you that desperate for any semblance of relevancy or attention?

And of course the Winklevi couldn't share a line, each needed their own entry on the list. Some petty Newman-McQueen "Towering Inferno" energy.

I think I'll go to Amoeba tomorrow for the soundtrack, and NOT go across the street to see this movie essentially for free. That's how uninterested in this film but intrigued by the soundtrack I am.
They DO know I can just buy the soundtrack album, right? I don't have to see the movie to get the part I really want? They're aware of this, right?

This was the age when grown-ass adults thought a Rambo cartoon and toy line was a great idea for kids.

Rambo.

Go rewatch First Blood. Tell me why it needed a cartoon. I'll wait for you to stop inhaling your own cocaine.
It honestly explains a lot of the “random” humour trends of the aughts. Our child brains were cooked by media produced by coke heads.
