I would say that even if I were married (I'm not) and was ethically non-monogemous (support the theory but dont personally have time for the practice) and had a couples profile (see above), I still wouldn't include a photo from my wedding in my Hinge profile

That's just me I guess

Didn't count the chicken
Chicken didn't hatch
We're calling that a moral victory and a professional disappointment
Just looking at some eggs, trying not to make any assumptions about whether they will successfully hatch

I meditate with my eyes open* and I was doing a sit while I waited for a date to start so set up my phone in my line of sight w a timer on but with the screen dark so I dont fixate

This meant a stranger would see me, dressed for a date, staring at a blank phone screen, motionless for half an hour

Trying to reconcile treating others as you would want to be treated with the fact that the desires of the other are not always knowable.

(I would Not want an email confirmation confirming receipt of an email confirmation but perhaps this person (a prospective employer) does???)

I have another #journorequest -- I'm writing about nail art as a type of feminine resistance but I need an expert on the sociology of femininity and political resistance... any recommendations on experts or academic I could speak to?

Today's Wikipedia mission is adding citations to the article for Amilcar Cabral, the Pan-African guerrilla leader and agronomist. His article is ok, if a little short, but almost none of the claims are cited

I am doing fine. I am doing well. I am handing in my assignments. I am getting the groceries. I am making soup in the background of the Zoom meeting. I'm crossing things off the list.

If the headline is a question, the answer is No

It does mention pension funds several times so now I'm wondering how much power unions, and especially their members, have over their own funds

Massive pension funds are a part of the terrain that we engage on, can they be a tool to change it?
The latest twist in The Apprentice: American Carnage has triggered talk that Europe could “weaponise” its nearly $13tn holdings of US assets.

But how credible is that threat, really? www.ft.com/content/beea...
Could Europe really leverage its $12.6tn pile of US assets?

Snow Day! Or, Toronto Doesn't Have (or Need) a Montreal-Style Snow Clearing Corps So Sometimes You Just Have to Shut the City Down for a Day. And it's even on a day I was going in for practicum so rather than being pivoted to Zoom I just have some free time to hang out.

Where do you ppl look for distancing running races? I went through all of RaceRoster for Toronto looking for races that the antifascist run club I'm in could take part in. I found very few, and then, way too late to take part, I found out about two separate races we would have been very aligned with

You could write a really pompous article about how Gen Z doesn't answer the phone w the implied conceit that that makes them morally weak and call it Refusing the Call

A train of associations led me to an older friend's memory of her Italian grandfather in Montreal during WW II getting nabbed by cops as a possible enemy infiltrater but managing to talk his way out of it by pretending to be Jewish

So many layers of bordering and bias and identity in one anecdote

here's my homemade sticker recipe:

1. print at high quality on printable vinyl sticker paper (not paper label paper)
2. (optional for longevity/sun protection) spray with krylon uv-resistant spray
3. carefully cover with a stick-on lamination sheet. smooth + remove bubbles with a credit card
when I get stressed about Events I just start printing shit
