I’m honestly shocked that this story from @globalnews.ca has flown under the radar. Confirmation that Amit Shah, the second-most powerful man in the Indian government, was directly involved in the assassinations on Canadian soil. globalnews.ca/news/1151469...

This is one of many reasons I'm interested in tenants orgs starting solar co-ops. Lowered bills and participation in green transition are good for there own sake but the possibilities for decentralized resilience to temporary or sustained blackouts is very exciting
"Rooftop solar is spreading fast in Jamaica, and people with panels got their power back almost immediately. The ‘entire neighborhood benefits,’ one resident said."

I wonder what kind of organizing can be happening in Canada in short to medium term to help with the, what feels like inevitable, wave of folks fleeing a collapsing United States?

I have so much appreciation for the Mountain Goats' singular quest to make music that can be a port in a storm. Going home extremely melancholy as another maybe turns into a no and I put on the new album and "The first thing you learn is how strong you can be if you have to" floats through the ether

Regardless of your political affiliations, theory of change, and justified skepticism of institutions, it's worthwhile, perhaps imperative, to spend 1-5 days relishing the joy of working class people making a bold choice in their own interest before resuming rigorous pessimism of the intellect

Except I immediately accidently read one of the readings she'd move to recommended
Mashallah, some of my Quran classmates spoke to our prof and convinced her that we had too many, too difficult Required readings and so she shifted several to Suggested

I've been quietly complaining about the workload but I thought it was just normal for Muslim students so I didn't want to complain

A city is made worthwhile by its freaks. Freaks make the good art, throw the good parties, and generate New Possibilities. But freaks are not always valued. Often they are exploited then discarded. I appreciate that a plurality of New Yorkers want to accord one of their genuine freaks the mayoralty
