I wrote this whole thing last night as a quote skeet of someone about how we need more happy things in our lives, so they started a thread of animal pictures and stories and then my app crashed and I lost it. The concept is this though: meet Astro.
I've been a massage therapist for 15 years. 5 years ago I got a degree in biomedical engineering. Last night I taught medical terminology to a bunch of students at the massage school. No matter how much I learn about the human body, I'm always amazed at the weird shit it does. Bodies are wild.

While I never believed Trump's promise that he was in any way going to help the economy for average Americans, I'm still blindsided by how much extra I'm having to pay for things lately. I swear I have a panic attack every time we buy groceries.
According to a new analysis by Democrats on the Joint Economic Committee, the average American family has paid more than $700 in higher costs per month since Trump took office.

Remember when Trump said he would end inflation on "day one"?

This. This. This. I want *every* pedophile rounded up. I don't give two shits about their political background or what they've voted for or who they are. If you're a pedophile, fuck all the way off to jail.
100% said this and feel free to quote me on it. Also @jackiekashian.bsky.social is a fantastic comedian and you should see her when she comes to your town.
@scalzi.com you say this? bc it’s the best - and your the best but people should know it’s you for realz.

What a photograph.

Whose going to tell them Corgis looking like that is also because of genetic abnormalities and likely inbreeding?

It's legit why mutts tend to be healthier. They're less likely to get two recessive genes leading to "abnormalities".

Anyway, diversity is great!

Lion born with unusually short legs named 'Corgi' causes zoo to be scrutinized for poor practices under the guise of "conservation": 'Real conservation focuses on maintaining strong, diverse genetics'
We love corgis . In fact, we love anything with short legs and big bodies…. but as much as we want to love this lion named ‘Corgi’, we just can't. Corgi is a lion that was born in a zoo with unusually...

15 years ago, I'd assumed by this stage in my life, I'd own a home.

*Laughs in millennial*
When the median homebuyer is nearing retirement, you don’t have a housing market. You have a crisis.
The median age of all U.S. homebuyers is now 59 years old.

Just 15 years ago, it was 39 years old.

The last time I saw my sister (in 2020), she was defending Trump and I brought this up. She tried brushing it aside by saying none of it had been proven.

I wonder what she's thinking today. (Not enough to find out, but I sure hope she is doing some deep reflection.)

Anyway, trust victims.

Bob Ross was just ASMR.

If you don't believe me, put on a Bob Ross video and look at anything else while it's playing. Just listen.

The fact he also made phenomenal paintings while he did it and educated people at the same time is just amazing.

Josh Johnson's rip of her over this was *chef's kiss*.
Megyn Kelly said she thinks “there’s a difference between a 5 year old and a 15 year old” when it comes to sexual abuse. Megyn Kelly has a 14 year old daughter. Megyn Kelly is going to Hell.

I think it's highly likely that alien life exists. I pray to god that they never find us. Even if they end up being "benevolent", I do not see a future where aliens find the earth and it's a good thing for humanity.

Does that mean I "win" if both of these are true for me? Lol.

(I definitely had a very sheltered childhood. Conservatives should note that it did not stop me from first coming out as a Lesbian and then as a trans man. It just made me very bad at pop culture references)
My wife and I are having a disagreement over who had the more sheltered childhood, based on the following real data points:

- She cannot name a single specific Bob Dylan song

- I have never inhaled helium from a balloon (or otherwise)

I know why I didn't keep good records of my transition. Up until not that long ago, my life was a dumpster fire. I could barely function. It was A LOT. But sometimes I wish I had. Sometimes when I'm trying to remember timelines of things it gets all muddled up in my head.

My sister who doesn't reach out very often texted me today just to make sure I'd heard the news. I had. I still really, really appreciated the text.

I was pretty sure they wouldn't overturn Obergefell, but I was very concerned that they would agree that she had a religious exemption.

Have you ever felt like a change that was within your power to fight for us reachable? At work, something like this is happening. It's important. It matters to more than just me. And it's changing.

When I lived in AZ, I lived in a city that was surrounded by farms and desert. It was big enough to have 2 high schools! But also still very entrenched in rural dynamics. As such, the population median was overall reliant on government or community programs to meet needs. I learned this there. 1/5
Most people don’t know that with SNAP you are banned from buying “foods that are hot at the point of sale”. So even if you have SNAP (which people don’t now) you can’t get cooked food. Which means you need to also actually have the resources to PREPARE a “healthy” meal.
Thinking about the social stigma against eating fast food in a country where poor people are being starved by the govt, the cost of groceries and fresh vegetables are astronomical, and a cheeseburger at McDonald’s costs $3.50.

“Clean” and “healthy” eating rhetoric is racist, ableist, and classist.

So I've never updated my work address on Google Maps. I regularly use Google Maps to check traffic on my way to work, but I had saved my current work as an important place instead of my work. Today I accidentally clicked the work button and uh... I guess I can be at work in 31 hours?

It's funny, because while I agree with this concept, I struggle to broadly apply it to myself. Like, I paint. I have paintings I've made that were important enough to me that when I had to fit all my belongings into a Jeep Liberty, they made the list. But I don't see myself as a painter.
Proposition: You become a writer the moment you write, a musician the moment you make music, a painter the moment you paint, etc. You become an artist the moment you find your own voice as a writer/musician/painter/etc.

Yes? No?
