Throwback Thursday or whatever. When we’d go to NYC we’d try to stay at the Chelsea. It was pricey but worth it. This room was on the third floor, just down the hall from where Clarke and Kubrick worked on the script for 2001. So much crazy history in that place. And fantastic showers.

Am reading Travis Zadeh’s compilation of Qazwini’s Ajaeb-ul-mukhlooqat and was reminded of this remarkable book by Musharraf Ali Farooqi, which if there was justice in the world, wouldve been on every bookshelf on the planet.

I’ve run up against Bluesky’s weirdly Draconian policies before. I posted a fine art image of an odalisque seen from the side. No nudity, but skin. BS gave me a stern warning that sounded like it came from Darth Vader—harsh and way out of all proportion. It was odd given BS’s rep for tolerance.

I sure do love this Spanish edition of my first book, THE OCCULTISTS. Dilantando Mentes does a fantastic job of everything they put out, and I was proud to join their roster. They really seemed to get the ideas and symbols embedded in the book, and the book design is incredible.

As all this disgusting Epstein shit starts surfacing more and more, I hope we don't lose sight of the fact that apparently every major media outlet knew everything and instead spent their time money and energy attacking the trans community.

Didn’t like the new Frankenstein too much. Way too obvious and maximalist. But I did enjoy Jacob Elordi’s vision for the monster—he gave a creative and delicate performance. I also liked Mia Goth’s headpiece. And that’s about it. Even the mighty Oscar Isaac was wasted.

Writers write. Some folks stay in a genre, others flit about. I’m one of the latter. My first book was historical dark fantasy. My second dark psychological fiction. My next was straight contemporary horror. My upcoming is LGBT weird-noir. I love the flitting about and trying of new things. #booksky
