I think about the opening of Son of Godzilla a lot. The insane scifi of Godzilla’s species generating brain waves powerful enough to knock out aircraft signals while the zombified and crusted Daisensogoji towers over the black ocean. This is just what I like best!! This is what it’s all about!!

The perception of these movies really refuses to acknowledge Batman Returns (1992) is just as much the Adam West show as anything Schumacher did. Camp as absurdist black comedy in expressionist horror drag. Tasteless, perverse, truly fucking excellent. Couldn’t give less of a fuck about the comics.
