I am hereby calling on Press Secretary Leavitt to stop blatantly lying to the American people.

A mother of three who is now dead very clearly backed up and turned the wheel to get away from an ICE officer illegally trying to open her car.

There must be an independent investigation.

I have to say, as a man with two mothers, I find the derisive deployment of language like "lesbian" and "lover" by those on the far right who are trying to justify Renee Good's death particularly disgusting and dehumanizing. These women. They are wives. They are a family. That's it.

FEMA has lost at least 20% of its workforce. FEMA can barely handle the current workload w/ the current staff, especially considering it was a quiet hurricane season this year. We may not always be as fortunate. Bleeding the workforce will hurt communities, your communities, your neighbors

If the workload isn’t there to support the position, supervisors would know this months in advance. In that case, they let the employee know so they can seek a position elsewhere inside or outside the agency

Never, in our experience have CORE renewal packages had to go to the FEMA administrator, or the DHS secretary for concurrence. NEVER .

typically if the first line supervisor creates a justification with a workload analysis and the administrator for that Region or directorate concurs, that’s the final say. The position is forwarded to HR to be processed.

We’ve been wanting to do a post on how these terminations are not routine as statements from DHS have asserted. So buckle up for this 🧵

CORE employees are typically appointed to FEMA for 2 years. At the end of that term supervisors must submit justifications to renew.

After all, this is the same woman who threw herself a giant, taxpayer-funded birthday party at department headquarters, and who likely committed mortgage fraud. Ethics aren't exactly her strong suit.

To that aim, he’s given USCIS a “denaturalization quota.” He wants them to provide the administration with 100-200 denaturalization cases PER MONTH.

PER. MONTH.

We had a total 305 denaturalization cases between 1990 and 2017. Just 305 over the course of 27 years.

And now he’s issued this quota.
