Trudeau: "I want to speak first directly to the American people. We don't want this. We want to work with you as a friend and ally. We don't want to see you hurt either. But your government has chosen to do this to you. As of this morning, markets are down and inflation is set to rise dramatically."

Portraying the writing life as constant daily output is a harmful stereotype. But I do believe in the power of routine. Bite sized, manageable, a reliable meeting point for you & your muse. Anyone want to practice with me for 15 mins a morning in Dec? poetcamp.com/december-jum...

This. I can't recommend enough reading & editing for journals if you get the chance. It shows you how much time & work goes into the publishing process. Also that rejections aren't a reflection on the quality of work, because there's often hundreds of submissions to sort through.
When I see a writer complaining about publishing, I always check their bio to see how they contribute to the writing community. Just like…curious about their perspective.

There is a huge shift when you begin to edit, or found a journal or a press. I can’t even tell you.

When Nickole Brown and I started talking about this topic, the more-than-human world, we had no idea that so many people would feel that it is indeed time to de-center human experience and consider a world where animals and plants have autonomy, their own experiences, their own lives.

Late to the game over fully leaving the bXd place & experiencing some serious grief over my carefully curated feed there - a lovely mix of poetry, flash fiction, folklore, medieval scholars, art historians. Have to have faith the pruned account will grow back! (& keep fingers crossed for bookmarks!)

You're not "late to the party" when you enjoy an old book for the first time. Books don't have an RSVP deadline. The party started long ago, and guests show up when they're meant to.
