at some point you realize most of the "using references is cheating, using models is cheating, using program tools is cheating, photobashing is cheat" propaganda comes from insecure people who have made skill ubiquitous with suffering. and without it, they find little worth in the work they make.

i understand it when people are self conscious about their ocs being too similar to other people's OCs or media but this is just a mutual win-win. I get more content *I* like and you get more content *you* like if our OCs/stories are similar

Wish more people realised that for most art businesses, there's only one person doing all the work. Creating, shipping, admin, promotion, starting feuds with other artists, painting unflattering portraits of them into historical scenes, trying to poison them, it's all one person.

Gosh it is *so* nice to scroll Bluesky while drinking my morning coffee and just see cool art and enjoy the chill vibes. Getting a break from the constant flow of negative discource, drama and dunk posts/engagement farming has been so refreshing
