Tbh capitalism as envisioned in Marx’s day was pretty horrifying. Children entering the factories at 5 or 6 years old, getting maimed by machinery, dying young etc is horrible stuff and those who opposed it were right.

my lukewarm take is that normal people don't like the east wing being demolished and at some point they're gonna see a list of all the corporate donors for the ballroom and blame them for it
