In the century leading up to 1975, nearly 6000 freighters went down in the Great Lakes.
The Edmund Fitzgerald was the last.
The last. In 50 years, not a single commercial freighter has been lost in the Great Lakes.
Why?
It's NOAA. Of course it's NOAA.

This a big deal: "China’s carbon dioxide emissions have been flat or falling for 18 months"
China's economy has grown by ~5% in the last year, so this comprehensively debunks the idea (again) that emissions are tied to growth. So yes, faster progress needed, but this is how you turn the corner.

A terrorist targeted federal workers last week. There wasn’t much reporting on it. But I’m not finished thinking about it! 🧵

Doug Ford hasn't straight out and said it yet, but there's every indication that current school trustees are the last ones in Ontario, and School boards are going to be amalgamated into significantly larger areas to be administered by provincial appointees.
The Ontario Ministry of Education has apparently cancelled their pre-budget consultation for this year. They usually ask for feedback from school boards and education partners on funding, programs, challenges, etc. in October, to help inform the budget. This is concerning. #OntEd
