I see the “technically it’s ephebophelia” crowd is out today, so just a reminder that A) this is NOT a case where technically correct is the best kind of correct and B) the minute you say this, the gods dump you in the “irredeemable creeper” basket and wash their hands thoroughly after touching you.

Good gods, this boils my blood.
1/ The US Government has quietly removed a memorial to Black soldiers who died in World War II from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, South Limburg. The move follows a complaint from the right-wing Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission. ⬇️

Traditional American politics is premised on the notion that sometimes you lose and sometimes you win and you have to deal with that.

But Trumpism is premised on the notion that any result where you don’t win is illegitimate, unlawful, fraud, criminal.

You can’t negotiate with people like that.

I mean, really the whole East Wing debacle is our fault, if you think about it. Trump said that thing about "respecting" the White House, and we didn't immediately know *for sure* that he was going to tear it all down because he has never respected anything in his entire blighted life.

By now, foreign governments must have put their least effective and competent spies on the job of spying on us. It's just too easy.
Currently on a flight to Japan watching a Pentagon Assistant Press Secretary (Riley Podleski) work on a document in the open on her laptop. She spent the last hour copy and pasting headlines from articles critical of the Administration’s hostility toward the 1st amendment.

For any Catholic, the sight of a Eucharistic Procession being turned away at the gates of the destination is the embodiment of Jesus being denied entrance. You don't have to be Catholic to get the symbolism in that!

Today's episode of "A Girl and Her Fed" by @kbspangler.com and @alepresser.com resonates with me. This is what I mean when I say that "I am not a good man, but I can fake it convincingly".

"Der Rächer" (The Avenger), later cast of a 1914 sculpture by German sculptor Ernst Barlach (1870-1938).

Barlach's pacifism as a result of his experiences in WWI, and his Expressionist art (denounced as "degenerate"), led to him being persecuted by the Nazis.

In the Tate Gallery, ref. no. T00951.

You do not in fact have to praise the guy who said homeless people should be murdered with lethal injections and then apologized four days later to save his job. Let's get a grip here.
Brian Kilmeade deserves praise for his apology.
Brian Kilmeade apologized for his comments about homeless people getting lethal injections this morning on Fox & Friends, saying "so many homeless people deserve our empathy and compassion."

Here's the clip of his apology 👇
