"If the officers learn that the individual they stopped is a U. S. citizen or otherwise lawfully in the United States, they coerce the individual to name names, steal their iPhone, dump them in a parking lot miles away bleeding, then they promptly let the individual go."--Justice Kavanaugh Stop.
We are so far beyond "show us your papers." They don't want to see the papers. We are now into the "give us the names" stage of the occupation.

They are unlawfully detaining people for First Amendment protected activities, as far as I can tell. Dragging people out of their vehicles absent witnessing a crime and without a judicial warrant is repugnant to our constitutional order.
