Planting street trees is the cheapest way I can think of to improve quality of life in cities and San Francisco is moving in the wrong direction. People love citing "ADA" for all sorts of bogus reasons and this is a prime example share.google/zEnGVcsFtEhq...

Regular reminder that we install signal poles and light posts with breakaway bolts *with the explicit purpose* of allowing cars to cleanly drive through them.

This results in the regular wiping of pedestrian off sidewalks, who might imagine that they are protected by nearby infrastructure.

Clipper 2.0 is going to revolutionize how we get around the Bay. Something as simple as taking the bus to the train will be rewarded, not punished.

From my house in Berkeley to my friends in the Castro could be literally half the price as today.

The Times parsed the vote using similar categories and again found that the single most determinative factor economic-like factor in the election was "commute by transit" vs "commute by car." It edged out renters vs. homeowners. There's still outstanding data but I expect these trends will hold.

It seems bad that only $668 million of California's $31 billion transportation budget is for public transit capital projects next year.

HSR gets another $798 million.

$1.45 billion out of $31 billion. It's a hidden form of climate arson.

Caltrans' messaging of its bike/ped work continues to border on mendacious.

This *Caltrans* press release says that they are spending $97M on a pedestrian overcrossing in SF.

That would be an insane price!

But in reality, the $97M is for a ped over-xing *and* 7.5 miles of I-280 pavement rehab!
