First, be well. Do what you need to stay alive. Rest whenever you must.
Join the fight if, when and how you can. Even a little help matters because there are many of us. We will make the fascists fight for every effing inch.
Every day we delay them is another day of life.

Democrats at every level of power could simply repeat "he must resign" over and over and over again. It's what the GOP would do if the situation were reversed. Further erode his power by pushing him to lash out more.

“Senate Democrats seem blissfully unaware that there exists real and potent opposition to the regime.”
Indeed. I’ve seen calls against Ezra Levin for rallying followers to get Schumer ousted. No. This is astonishingly grassroots. Ezra is responding to OUR insistence. We are enraged.
Had to write about Angus King's declaration that "standing up to Trump didn't work" because I've never heard anything bleaker in my life.

Republicans constantly attack their Congressional leadership, and they remove leaders who fail to achieve the objectives desired by the base.

This 'infighting' hasn't been a 'distraction' or 'weakness' for them, it has produced victory after victory, including control of all three branches.
Oh yeah - never a convenient time to have some real talk about the dynamic that the Democrats in the Senate are led by bunch of chumps. Certainly not after they created the conditions for yet another base demoralizing surrender.
This kind of activity is just what you should want to see, if your are a Republican, eager to see the opposition distracted by self-destructive infighting.

Many are calling for Chuck Schumer's resignation. What hasn't been reported until now is that any Senate Democrat can offer a motion to challenge his leadership position, and it would have to get a vote within 7 days. From @whitneycwimbish.bsky.social:

One Weird Trick to Get Rid of Chuck Schumer - The American Prospect
Multiple Democratic groups, House members, and candidates say it’s time for the Senate minority leader to go. It turns out any single Senate Democrat can force a vote on Schumer’s job.

Schumer is passive.
If you were passive people would not follow you, no one would contribute, and you would be easily dismissed.

Schumer is not the leader that we need right now. He is weak. Time to move on.

Just watched Bernie Sanders on Maddow and in response to whether Schumer should step down from leadership, his answer was "Look Schumer is part of the Dem Establishment and if he steps down who will replace him?"

I mean... Bernie, WTF???? Take a damn stand.

Are MSNBC hosts as out of touch with voters as Dem Senators seem to be? I think the rage re: the vote to end the shutdown while doing nothing to protect ACA subsidies is SO underestimated. Ask those whose premiums are rising how they feel about Schumer.

Very disappointed tonight that you choked and refused to call for Schumer’s replacement on Maddie’s show. Why hasn’t a single Senator called for this? Does Schumer have blackmail on you? What is it?!

After yesterday’s surrender, we’re launching the largest Democratic primary program that we’ve ever run.

We will not back any Senate primary candidate unless they call for Schumer to step down as Minority Leader.

If you’re as pissed as we are, join this campaign to rebuild the Democratic Party. 👇
Democratic leaders have failed us again. It's time to get new leaders.
After yet another capitulation by Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats, it's clear we need new leadership capable of mounting a serious opposition to Trump's authoritarian regime. We're launching our la...

Hi Rachel, I’m looking forward to hearing from whichever Democratic senator you’ll have on your show tonight. But a lot of us are listening for only one thing. Are they calling for Schumer’s ouster?
Anything else they say is just blah blah blah.

Today is a great day to make sure you cancel ANY recurring donation to ANY sitting Democratic senator and especially to ANY of the party committees.

Yes, they will notice. Yes, they should all be afraid. Send a signal that they'll be held collectively responsible for this utter betrayal. 🧵

Cloture. I’ve seen many say that Sunday night’s vote was “only” for cloture and the “real” vote is mid week. But 60 votes were needed for cloture and that was purchased by 8 Democrats voting yes. How many votes does the “real” vote need?

Senator Schiff, to get my trust back you need to do two things.
Get Schumer out of leadership.
Fix your voicemail so I can leave a message. It’s mysteriously full even on weekday mornings.
Until then, stop asking me for money.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
I refuse to support a funding bill that fails to address the Republican health care crisis.

And make health insurance affordable.

The American people clearly understand the stakes and the urgency. We must too.

Important to understand this. There's a reasonable chance that your Dem Senator who voted against it and is acting mad now was in on the play. It's the same reason why they scheduled the surrender for AFTER the election this week. They didn't want people pissed at Dems right before an election.
The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
