Shutting down the government is a big deal. People have been hurt in big ways as a result of the decision. To have that suffering be for nothing—to re-open the government without actually having protected people’s health insurance and economic well-being—is unconscionable.

I’ve seen a lot of doomerism, but honestly this article feels like a relief! Large youth vote, overrepresented Republican vote (a lot of which will go to Sliwa), half of the 55+ voters they interviewed in the UES voted for Mamdani…if this was a two man race I’d be more scared but this looks good.

We've somehow entered an era in which the American people (and especially those of the left) have unprecedented sympathy for the Palestinian people, while simultaneously, politicians are returning to 2000s era Islamaphobia. It's disgusting.
