But let’s not lose sight of the fact that all Albo’s clever plans have added up to is curtailed freedom of speech and association, more social division (including Islamophobia) and blowback on the Jewish community ie an INCREASE IN ANTISEMITISM. So from a policy perspective an unmitigated disaster.

I just wish he’d sit down with his caucus, come up with 5 big things that are in the best interests of ordinary Australians and put them into action. There has literally never been a better time. Yet all we get are tactics, dysfunction and points scoring. We are badly served by our politicians.

Anyways - Coalition split all but done. Eight Nationals resign from shadow cabinet. Can’t have a Coalition cabinet with just one party. Sussan Ley will sink with it.

Who could have predicted any of this? (sarcasm)

Whether it's illegal to say it or not (?), Israel is quite clearly committing genocide in Palestine. The Australian government (but not the Australian people) is quite clearly supporting it. And our farce of a democracy is being further eroded so people don't speak this truth.

Labor has teamed up with the Liberals with a last minute deal to pass dangerous new laws limiting speech and political expression. The Greens condemn the major parties for rushing through these laws that will have real impacts on people trying to speak out for human rights and against genocide.

Just a reminder - had Dutton won the election those two ministers would have been Michaelia Cash and James Patterson
Penny Wong: the action can only be taken on the advice of the Director-General of ASIO & in consultation with two ministers and the Leader of the Opposition must be briefed. So there are a lot of checks and balances.

Bloody hell.

Scoop: One of the first acts of Australia's new anti-corruption watchdog, NACC, was to carry out $30 million of office fit-outs.

It was only when staff were preparing the agency's first annual report that they realised the project broke laws meant to fight... corruption.

Every councillor from these councils persecuting the homeless should be publicly shamed and thrown out. Seeing them promise to keep doing it as if it's inevitable and they couldn't choose not to, and no journalists pushing back, is infuriating.

Amazing when you have a system that lets the private sector deliver a public service it gets rorted.

Grog’s Rule: When you privatise public services be sure to also allocate space in a few years for the Royal Commission into abuses in the system.
Weird that it’s turning out to be the providers, not the recipients, ripping off the NDIS.

It’s almost as if the Morrison government was so incompetent that it’s taken three years of organised work to clean it up. Incompetent and/or corrupt.
